Title: Driver / Receiver
Reports To: Commissary Warehouse Manager
Job Summary:
Palmer’s Market is up and running at our new commissary kitchen, and we are looking to expand our Driver / Receiver Team. Day to day responsibilities include checking orders, proper storage and documentation, while maintaining high standards of organization. This position will work closely with our Culinary and Operations Teams managing the organization of all materials in the commissary in addition to the receipt and inspection of all incoming supplies and outgoing goods. In the receiver function, products must be accurately checked against purchase orders, properly stored, and documented, while maintaining high standards of quality and organization. The Driver / Receiver will work closely with the culinary team, delivery personnel, and our internal Teams to ensure efficient and accurate inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect goods from deliveries for quality and freshness checking for accuracy against purchase orders, packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damage
- Work closely with delivery personnel to ensure receipt of correct order. Report any issues with deliveries to the appropriate supervisor or manager
- Organize and store products in designated areas (walk-ins, freezers, dry storage), ensuring proper rotation and accessibility (FIFO)
- Work with purchasing and management teams to address inventory needs and optimize supply chain processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with vendors and delivery personnel.
- Perform maintenance tasks such: as changing light bulbs, repairing minor equipment issues, department sanitation, and reporting larger maintenance needs to management.
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, such as a van, truck, or Freightliner to transport goods from the commissary to designated locations (doesn’t require specialty license)
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Pack orders between Market, GMTG and Offsite events to customer/client orders and coordinate between locations and departments with accuracy and efficiency
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the delivery vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, receipts, and any discrepancies
- Obtain signatures or confirmations from recipients upon delivery
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including those related to vehicle operation, food handling, and emergency procedures
- Ensure that all goods are transported in compliance with health and safety standards

Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up heavy items up to 50lbs
- Comfortable working in cold environments (freezer, walk-ins, etc)
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to correct problems such as refusing bad delivery
- Can-do attitude and proactive personality
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Experience working in food, retail, warehouse experience a plus
- Reliable for early mornings, late evenings, or weekends, depending on delivery schedule
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items (50 pounds)
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance.
- Capability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Reliable for early mornings, late evenings, or weekends, depending on delivery schedule

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
