Director of Corporate Finance
Location: Wilmington, NC
Tribute Companies is seeking a Director of Corporate Finance to serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and be involved with all accounting, finance, and legal functions of all divisions of the company: Construction, Development, and Property Management.
Areas of Responsibility
Accounting: Play a central role in the development and oversight of divisional accounting processes, as performed by accounting staff, to include TB review, periodic reporting, and projections. Direct responsibility for global corporate forecasting and financial analysis. Lead the development, review, and ongoing enhancement of internal control processes across the company.
Finance: Lead and oversee financial due diligence related to real estate transactions, to include sales/acquisitions, financing, investing, and leasing.
Legal: Work with outside legal counsel in drafting and reviewing all legal documents, to include real estate purchase and sale contracts, commercial leases, and any and all agreements related to real estate construction and development.
Tax: Work with outside tax advisors and preparers on annual tax compliance work and projections. Develop and recommend tax-advantaged strategies in the real estate realm.
What we are looking for
The right candidate will bring a strong mix of finance and accounting experience, reporting discipline, and practicality. This person should be comfortable working with senior leadership as well as key outside professionals, while also taking ownership of day-to-day accounting and reporting functions.
Candidates should have:
- Experience working with accounting systems, financial reporting, and management information
- The accounting and finance fluency to work effectively with both the CFO and division Controllers and accountants
- A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reconciliations, internal controls, and reporting
- The ability to lead improvements to systems and workflows in a growing, real-world operating environment
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Experience with Yardi, Premier, or similar systems is strongly preferred. Familiarity with real estate construction, development, and management is preferred. Experience helping accounting teams modernize legacy processes will be especially relevant.
