Job Summary- Immediate Need for 2 dedicated Part time Freight Sorters to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role you will be responsible for efficiently organizing, sorting, and preparing freight shipments to ensure smooth and accurate distribution within the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience operating warehouse equipment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment while supporting the overall supply chain operations.It’s a Part-time Freight Sorter/Warehouse Associate. The hours are 3:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Payrate is 12.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use RF scanners to accurately identify and track shipments throughout the sorting process
- Load and unload freight using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools
- Sort products by destination, size, weight, or category to facilitate efficient storage and distribution
- Maintain inventory control by recording movement of goods and updating inventory management systems
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all handling and lifting activities
- Assist in packaging and preparing items for shipment or storage
- Conduct routine maintenance on warehouse equipment and ensure cleanliness of work areas
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity goals and improve workflow efficiency
- Support shipping & receiving operations by verifying shipment accuracy and completing documentation
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with familiarity in materials handling and inventory management
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and stock control
- Effective communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for diverse teams
- Experience in retail store environments or grocery stores is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining safety standards
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
