Position: Raw Material Lead — Pre-Production
We're looking for a mid-level materials professional (2–5 years of experience) who takes ownership of raw material operations from sourcing to receiving. You'll be a key connector between our vendor network and production team, ensuring quality materials arrive on time and at the best possible cost.
What You'll Own
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source raw materials for new and active production orders, negotiating for best pricing and delivery terms
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; continuously evaluate and expand our supplier network
- Identify innovative materials and sustainable alternatives aligned with company values
Inventory & Tracking
- Own raw material inventory — from purchase order through receiving, quality check, and storage
- Maintain and improve our raw material tracking system; experience implementing or optimizing tracking workflows (software or AI-assisted tools) is a strong plus
- Manage and maintain accurate records in Google Sheets; build and refine tracking templates for materials, timelines, and costs
Production Support
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for development and production orders
- Calculate material quantities required per production run
- Troubleshoot timeline and quality issues related to materials; proactively flag risks before they impact production
- Communicate clearly with clients on material status, substitutions, and timelines
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2–5 years of experience in raw material management, inventory control, or supply chain — apparel or textile industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in vendor sourcing and relationship management, with a track record of securing better pricing or lead times
- Proficiency in Google Sheets for tracking, reporting, and data organization
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both client and vendor interaction
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Bonus Points
- Experience implementing or administering a raw material tracking system (ERP, inventory software, or AI-assisted tools)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks
- Knowledge of UPS/FedEx shipping processes
- Background in garment construction and materials (fabrics, trims, notions)
Schedule
