Job Title: Director of Event Sales
Location: Country Club of the North
Position Type: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate Opportunity
About CCN:
Country Club of the North is one of Southwest Ohio’s premier private club destinations, known for its Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, elevated member experience, exceptional hospitality, and beautiful indoor and outdoor event settings. From weddings and corporate events to golf outings, private celebrations, charity functions, and member-hosted gatherings, CCN offers a distinctive setting for events that feel polished, personal, and memorable.
We are entering an exciting period of growth and investment, and private events are a major part of our future. We are looking for a high-energy sales professional who can help us tell that story, build relationships, and turn our event spaces into one of the most sought-after private event venues in the Dayton region.
Position Overview:
Country Club of the North is seeking a driven, polished, and highly motivated Director of Event Sales with one clear mission: grow private event revenue by selling our event spaces, building a strong pipeline, and converting opportunities into booked events.
This is not a passive administrative role. We are looking for someone who naturally networks, follows up quickly, builds trust easily, and is energized by the challenge of selling a premium private club experience. The right candidate will be ambitious, charismatic, organized, and comfortable representing CCN with members, prospects, corporate clients, wedding parties, vendors, community leaders, and referral partners.
A basic understanding of golf, private clubs, weddings, corporate events, or hospitality is strongly preferred. A strong sales mindset is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales and Revenue Growth
- Proactively sell CCN’s private event spaces for weddings, corporate events, golf outings, charity functions, private parties, member events, and community gatherings.
- Build, manage, and consistently advance a strong event sales pipeline.
- Respond quickly and professionally to all event inquiries.
- Conduct site tours that create excitement, urgency, and confidence in booking CCN.
- Prepare proposals, estimates, contracts, and follow-up communications that move prospects toward a signed agreement.
- Meet and exceed event sales goals, revenue targets, and booking expectations.
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, vendor relationships, chamber/community connections, corporate outreach, and member introductions.
- Develop repeat business from companies, families, organizations, wedding vendors, tournament hosts, and community partners.
Relationship Building and Brand Representation
- Serve as a polished, energetic ambassador for Country Club of the North.
- Build strong relationships with members, prospects, wedding planners, corporate contacts, vendors, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Represent CCN at networking events, community functions, bridal/vendor events, golf outing opportunities, and other business development settings.
- Maintain a professional presence that reflects the quality, service, and brand standards of a premier private club.
- Create a sales experience that makes prospects feel confident choosing CCN for important events.
Event Planning Support and Internal Coordination
- Work closely with the culinary, food and beverage, golf, facilities, and service teams to ensure booked events are properly communicated and executed.
- Maintain accurate event details, contracts, BEOs, client notes, deposits, timelines, and internal communication.
- Help clients make decisions that align with their goals while protecting CCN’s standards, profitability, and operational capacity.
- Ensure a smooth handoff from sale to execution while remaining engaged with the client relationship.
- Support post-event follow-up to encourage repeat bookings, referrals, and future opportunities.
Marketing and Lead Generation
- Help identify the most effective ways to promote CCN as a private event destination.
- Contribute ideas for event sales campaigns, packages, outreach lists, vendor partnerships, and referral programs.
- Work with leadership and marketing support to improve event materials, online presence, photography, tours, and promotional messaging.
- Track lead sources and conversion activity to help determine which sales channels are producing results.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional who is polished, competitive, and energized by growth. This person enjoys meeting people, making connections, following up, and closing business. They are equally comfortable speaking with a bride and groom, a corporate executive, a golf outing chairperson, a club member, or a local business owner.
We are especially interested in candidates who have:
- Proven experience in event sales, hospitality sales, catering sales, club events, hotel sales, wedding sales, corporate sales, or a related revenue-generating role.
- A track record of building relationships and converting leads into booked business.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A polished, professional presence appropriate for a private club environment.
- Natural networking ability and comfort representing the club in the community.
- Strong follow-up habits and the ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages of the sales process.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- The ability to balance sales urgency with premium service standards.
- A basic understanding of golf, private clubs, weddings, corporate events, or food and beverage operations.
- Confidence using event software, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and basic digital sales tools.
A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, marketing, business, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required for candidates with strong relevant experience.
