Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware according to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by regularly cleaning work surfaces, sinks, and storage areas in compliance with sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, pans, or boxes to prevent injury
- Ensure adherence to kitchen health and safety standards, including sanitation protocols and safe operation of kitchen equipment
- Assist with food safety management practices by properly storing cleaned items and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment are advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Experience in catering, banquet service, or hotel kitchens is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong teamwork attitude with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure
