Job Title: Lead HVAC InstallerLocation
We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer to oversee residential and light commercial HVAC installations from start to finish. This role is responsible for job execution, quality control, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. The Lead Installer sets the standard for workmanship, safety, and professionalism while occasionally performing light maintenance tasks to ensure system performance and customer comfort.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & System Commissioning
- Lead complete HVAC system installations including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, zoning systems, and IAQ products
- Oversee removal and proper disposal of existing equipment
- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards
- Perform startup, commissioning, airflow verification, static pressure checks, and system optimization
- Diagnose and resolve on-site installation challenges without escalation when possible
Leadership & Job Management
- Lead and train install helpers and junior installers on best practices and safety standards
- Manage daily job flow, materials, and timelines to ensure installations are completed efficiently
- Conduct on-site quality checks and final walk-throughs prior to job completion
- Communicate with dispatch, sales, and management regarding job status, changes, or issues
Light Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform basic system maintenance when required, such as:
- Replacing filters
- Cleaning condensate drains and traps
- Checking refrigerant charge (no major diagnostics or repairs)
- Inspecting electrical connections and tightening as needed
- Verifying thermostat programming and system operation
- Identify potential future service needs and communicate findings to the service team or customer (no hard selling)
Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners
- Clearly explain system operation, maintenance expectations, and warranty coverage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
- Ensure a positive handoff experience at job completion
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete installation checklists, startup documentation, and photos in company software (e.g., ServiceTitan)
- Record accurate equipment information, job notes, and material usage
- Adhere to all EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of HVAC installation experience
- Proven experience leading residential replacement installations
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and duct systems
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments
Preferred
- NATE Installation Certification
- Manual J, S, and D familiarity
- Prior mentoring or crew leadership experience
- Experience with high-efficiency systems, zoning, and IAQ products
- Knowledge of working with ServiceTitan
