Role: Recreational Therapist (RECT)
Location: Multiple Facilities Across California - Correctional Facility
We are seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to join our team in a correctional healthcare setting. You will provide therapeutic recreation services that support rehabilitation, promote positive use of leisure time, and enhance patients' social, functional, and coping skills.
What You'll Do:
- Plan, develop, and implement individualized recreation therapy programs
- Facilitate patient social interaction, physical activity, and coping strategies
- Conduct evaluations of activities of daily living, communication skills, and behavioral interventions
- Collaborate with clinical and custodial staff in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings
- Support reintegration into the general population or other levels of care
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 12 months of recent experience in a similar setting within the last 3 years (internships not included)
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation
- Completion of supervised fieldwork approved by NCTRC or CBRPC
- Valid certifications/licenses as required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay: From $70.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
