American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift adult respiratory/neuro diagnostics position at a Level II Trauma Center, with experience in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings required.

Short-term acute care hospital setting with 431 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center

Adult respiratory and neuro diagnostics unit

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
-
Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
-
Floating required to the ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units as needed
-
Mandatory on-call requirement: 3 shifts per 6-week period

Block scheduling is not available

Charting in Epic EMR
-
Wine-colored scrubs required
-
Active VA state license required, or documented proof of VA license application submitted along with a current license from another state (national license not accepted); license required if applicable

BLS and CRTT certifications required
-
ACLS required; candidates may begin the assignment with ACLS pending, provided it is obtained within 90 days of the start date

RRT credential preferred

Minimum experience required in airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers

Adult critical care, ER, and community hospital work setting experience required
-
NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred
-
Level II Trauma Center experience preferred

Responsibilities include aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies, as well as arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis, and CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management
-
Adult and neonatal intensive care and emergency department experience is preferred but not required in all areas

Candidates are expected to attend monthly department meetings when scheduled; if not working, candidates must review meeting minutes and send written acknowledgment to management
