Wood Brothers Trucking & Construction is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing civil construction team. We specialize in underground utilities, excavation, grading, site development projects throughout the Treasure Valley.
We are looking for a dependable team member who can safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment while also being willing to work alongside the crew performing general construction tasks when needed. Our operators are an important part of the entire project—not just someone who sits in a machine all day.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and backfill operations.
- Assist with underground utility installation including sewer, water, and storm drain.
- Read and understand basic construction plans and elevations.
- Assist with pipe installation, grade checking, compaction, and jobsite preparation.
- Perform labor tasks as needed to support the crew and complete projects efficiently.
- Help with setup, cleanup, and maintenance of equipment and job sites.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety requirements and company policies.
- Work as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and to company standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
- Experience in civil construction, excavation, or underground utilities preferred.
- Ability to operate excavators, loaders, dozers and other construction equipment safely.
- Knowledge of trench safety, underground utilities, and construction practices.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and take pride in quality work.
Preferred Experience
- Sewer, water, and storm drain installation.
- Fine grading and finish work.
- Working around pipe crews.
- Reading plans and understanding grades.
- Experience with GPS machine control is a plus.

Compensation
Pay depending on experience and ability
Experienced operators who can work independently, understand civil construction, and help lead a crew may qualify for higher compensation.
