Job Title: Forklift Technician (Minimum 2 Years Experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Technician with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline-powered forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including motors, brakes, steering systems, batteries, and hydraulic components.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, and work orders accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, operators, and management regarding equipment status and repair recommendations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Forklift Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or related role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and engine systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Experience working with major forklift brands is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in forklift repair or related technical training.
- Experience with battery-powered and electric forklifts.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools.
