Dog Kennel Attendant | Animal Care Role with Daily Impact
About the Role
Cedar Bend Humane Society is seeking a dependable, hardworking Dog Kennel Attendant to help care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. This is a hands-on, active role that supports the daily care, health, and well-being of the animals in our shelter.
Schedule
25–30 hours per week
Shifts vary between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Includes weekends and some holidays
Pay
Starting at $12 per hour
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining kennels and housing areas
- Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns to a supervisor
- Handle, walk, and care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Support daily shelter operations, including laundry, dishes, and overall upkeep
- Assist other departments as needed
Qualifications
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Dependable with strong attendance—reliability is critical in this role
- Must be available to work weekends and some holidays
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation
- Must be 18+
