Practice Administrator — Sterling Vision, PC (Eugene, OR)
About Us
Sterling Vision is a physician-owned, independent ophthalmology and optometry group serving Oregon communities across four locations: Eugene (Valley River), Springfield, Junction City, and Salem. Alongside our management entity, Provectus Management, LLC, and our research affiliate, Verum Research, LLC, we deliver comprehensive medical and surgical eye care with the personal touch only an independent practice can offer.
The Role
We're seeking a Practice Administrator to head our organization's business operations and guide our teams toward success. Working directly with the physician owners, you'll set direction for clinic and department leads, drive strategic projects from concept through implementation, and serve as the analytical and communication hub of the practice. This role blends hands-on operational leadership with higher-level analysis and strategy — the right candidate can step into the details when teams need support, while building the systems and people that reduce how often that's necessary.
What You'll Do
- Guide, coach, and develop department and site leads across four locations, setting clear expectations and helping teams reach them
- Provide hands-on operational leadership where needed, strengthening workflows, accountability, and consistency across sites
- Lead high-impact projects end to end — new systems, process redesigns, service line expansion, and practice growth initiatives
- Deliver financial and operational analysis to the physician owners: reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights that drive strategy
- Oversee revenue cycle performance, working with billing staff to drive results
- Guide HR strategy — organizational structure, staff development, and culture
- Ensure organizational compliance with HIPAA and federal/state healthcare regulations
- Serve as the primary communication link between physicians, leadership, and staff
- Support clinical research operations through our affiliated research entity
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of progressive healthcare leadership, including experience developing supervisors and team leads
- Strong analytical toolkit: financial reporting, KPI development, and the ability to translate data into clear recommendations
- Proven project implementation record — you've taken initiatives from idea to fully adopted
- Executive-caliber communication skills, especially with physicians and owners
- Willingness to engage at whatever level the practice needs, from strategy to floor-level problem solving
- Multi-site and specialty practice experience strongly preferred; ophthalmology/optometry a plus
- Bachelor's degree required; MHA/MBA preferred
What We Offer
- Competitive salary plus additional compensation for extended availability
- Paid time off and benefits package
- Company-provided technology
- The autonomy and impact of a leadership role in an independent, physician-owned practice — no corporate bureaucracy
