Lawson Cryogenic Manufacturing & Repair LLC is a leader in the repair and maintenance of cryogenic and industrial gas equipment. Incorporated in 2016, Lawson Cryogenic has grown from one location with three technicians in Baytown, TX to two locations with 40+ employees in 2026. The opening of our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Gretna, NE in 2025 was a key step in Lawson Cryogenic’s growth and commitment to expanding its product offerings.
We are seeking a highly dependable and motivated Paint/Blast Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, blasting, coating and painting cryogenic tanker trailers and related pressure vessels.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming
- Ensure all work meets DOT, OSHA, and company regulations, including testing, purging, and certifying vessels
- Prepare equipment for painting by properly washing equipment and parts
- Perform paint blending, refinishing, and complete paint jobs
- Document time and/or job completion in manufacturing software program
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet goals and deadlines
- Other duties helping in the shop as requested by supervisors/managers
Requirements
- Familiar with industrial blasting equipment, spray guns, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Experience with cryogenic systems, vacuum technology, or specialized trailer maintenance preferred
- Experience with paint preparation and spray equipment
- Solid work history
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, good problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
