- Coordinate with local government agencies and authorities to secure permits required for roofing projects, including building permits, environmental approvals, and special inspections.
- Prepare and submit permit applications accurately using construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam.
- Track permit status, follow up on approvals, and resolve any issues that may arise during the permitting process to prevent project delays.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and field teams to ensure all permitting requirements are met before project commencement.
- Maintain detailed records of permit applications, correspondence, approvals, and related documentation for audit purposes.
- Stay current on evolving building codes, zoning laws, and permitting regulations relevant to roofing projects across different jurisdictions.
- Assist with project scheduling by integrating permitting timelines into overall construction schedules using Primavera P6 or HeavyBid. Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction permitting within the roofing or general construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, project management, and construction site procedures.
- Familiarity with contract administration and understanding of construction contracts related to permits.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple permits simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with government agencies, clients, and internal teams.
- Prior experience in construction site environments is highly desirable to understand on-the-ground project needs.
- Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and construction management principles is essential for seamless integration into overall project workflows.
