Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Assist client with medication reminders following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Support client with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, utilizing specialized techniques
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring a safe environment
- Use manual handling equipment such as a gate belt to assist with transfers and mobility needs
- Document care activities accurately in client records and update care plans regularly
- Support clients emotional well-being through active engagement, companionship, and social activities
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR/First Aid certification and emergency response procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while adhering to safety standards with a gate belt.
- Strong communication skills and compassion for providing person-centered care
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
