The DSP plays a vital role in supporting individuals by assisting with daily living, safety, emotional support, and overall wellness needs in a community-based setting.

Assist consumers with daily living and support needs

Promote safety, independence, and overall well-being

Provide emotional and social support in a professional manner

Maintain communication with supervisors and team members

Utilize approved verbal and physical interventions when necessary

Support consumers in community-based environments and activities

High school diploma or GED required

Ability to physically assist consumers as needed

Ability to respond appropriately in behavioral intervention situations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable communication device preferred

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
