We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Window and Door Measurement Technician with a deep understanding of retrofit, nailfin, block frame, and new construction techniques. This role requires a professional with at least 5 years of experience to support our commitment to precision and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise measurements for windows and doors in both residential and commercial projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in different installation types, including:
- Retrofit (Replacement) Windows
- Nailfin Windows
- Block Frame Windows
- New Construction Windows
- Assess and measure headers, rough openings, and structure dimensions to determine proper fit and installation methods.
- Understand and calculate order sizes, ensuring the right dimensions are provided for fabrication and installation.
- Collaborate closely with sales, installation teams, and project managers to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot any potential installation challenges, providing solutions or modifications when necessary.
- Record and document all measurements accurately in company systems and provide detailed reports as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, providing guidance on product options and answering any technical questions.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards while conducting site visits and measurements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Measurement Technician, specifically in the window and door industry.
- In-depth knowledge of various window and door installation methods, including retrofit, nailfin, block frame, and new construction.
- Strong understanding of headers, framing, and structural requirements related to window and door installations.
- Ability to accurately measure and translate rough openings, frame sizes, and finished sizes into proper order dimensions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with measurement tools, technology, and software related to project management.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to window and door installations.
- Knowledge of installation techniques for specialized products like impact-resistant or energy-efficient windows.
- Previous experience in project coordination or sales support is a plus.
