Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and other confections, following established recipes and standards
- Support the pastry chef with food production tasks, ensuring timely and efficient output to meet high-volume demands
- Decorate cakes, pastries and appetizers with precision, incorporating techniques such as cake decorating to enhance visual appeal
- Handle food preparation tasks including measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling baked items
- Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation standards throughout all shifts
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and knife tools for pastry preparation
- Package baked goods carefully for storage or delivery while ensuring presentation quality and food safety compliance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or bakery settings is highly desirable, especially with pastry or cake decorating skills
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and food handling practices
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Ability to work evening/ night shift
- Excellent attention to detail for recipe adherence, decoration precision, and maintaining quality standards
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and maintaining a clean workspace at all times
- Catering or high-volume production experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
