Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily operations of the garage to include running reports, scheduling workload, coordinating emergency road call services and support, overseeing inventory control system, maintaining accountability for parts and equipment, and requisitioning parts and supplies;
Assists the Central Garage Supervisor in preparing specifications for the purchase of new and replacement equipment;
Oversees the work of automotive mechanics and other shop personnel on assigned shift; supports Automotive Foreman II and III with providing supervision and assisting with performance evaluations for assigned personnel;
Performs school bus and other vehicle maintenance as required; conducts quality assurance inspections on all work performed on assigned shift;
Ensures that tools and repair parts are available to perform all specific repairs to the fleet;
Makes decisions with regard to the maintenance and repair of school board vehicles with minimal supervision;
Ensures a safe working environment and participates in the training of all shop employees, including ongoing cross-training in all related skill areas with emphasis on mechanical skills enhancement and material inventory responsibilities;
Ensures that all school board vehicles, parts and materials are properly procured, inventoried and dispensed in accordance with internal guidelines;
Assists other garage coordinators in the daily operations of all school board vehicles, materials, operations, scheduling and workforce support;
Monitors warranties to ensure that parts and equipment under warranty are serviced as required; and
Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Range: $29.93 - $59.88
