The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all products are manufactured, packaged, and distributed in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety guidelines. Reporting to the site QA Manager, this position is responsible for monitoring critical quality and food safety control points, conducting inspections and audits, verifying product specifications, and documenting quality assurance activities.
The FSQA Specialist works closely with Production and Quality teams to identify and communicate non-conformances, support corrective actions, maintain quality records and databases, and help ensure the consistent production of safe, high-quality products. This role is essential to maintaining our commitment to food safety, product quality, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform and log all quality checks as outlined
- Ensure workforce compliance with GMP s and Food Safety policies.
- Verify products produced and packed are within specification.
- Communicate to shift leadership all non-compliant issues.
- Verify Packaging Guidelines.
- Assist in investigations and special projects.
- Collect production samples and take to lab for retentions

Job Type: Full-time
Work Environment:
- Job is performed in a food manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in a schedule-driven 8 to 12 hr. shift environment. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate.
- Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including wearing hair nets, uniforms and appropriate safety equipment apply.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
- The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, bending, reaching, and crouching.
- Strength: Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds with regularity.

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in food manufacturing is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to learning.
- Basic knowledge of food safety principles, quality standards, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with sanitation practices in a manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
