Aerospace Composite & Structural Mechanic
Minimum 5 years of composite repair and aircraft structures experience required
Position Summary:
FLG Technics is seeking an experienced Composite & Structural Aircraft Mechanic to join our team. This position focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing composite components and aircraft structures across a variety of platforms. The role requires advanced composite repair skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to navigate computer systems to access technical data and manage parts and discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Composite Repairs: Diagnose and perform repairs on composite components and aircraft structures in accordance with OEM, FAA, and company standards.
- Structural Modifications: Carry out composite structural repairs and modifications, including wet lay-up, pre-preg, bonding, sanding, fitting, and curing processes.
- Technical Data & Parts Management: Utilize computer systems to access technical publications, engineering drawings, order parts, and manage discrepancy reports.
- Work Environment: Perform work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms following all safety protocols.
- Manual Handling: Safely handle and maneuver components and materials weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed to ensure full traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow mechanics and departments to support efficient workflow and on-time project completion.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing process improvements and contribute to a quality-driven work culture.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in aircraft composite repair and structural work.
- Proficient in composite repair techniques: wet lay-up, pre-preg, bonded structure repair, sanding, fitting, curing.
- Familiar with computer-based maintenance tracking and documentation systems.
- Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred but not required: FAA Airframe (A) license, A&P license, or equivalent industry certifications.
