Job description
We are looking for a Sales Engineer who is comfortable building business-to-business relationships and representing ICS in the field. ICS provides inbound leads through active marketing and existing client relationships; you build on that foundation by developing your own pipeline. The role is primarily work-from-home and field-based, with occasional visits to our Largo facility.
What You Will Be Doing
- Following up on inbound leads from company marketing and existing relationships
- Meeting clients at their location to assess needs and present ICS capabilities
- Developing your own leads through outreach, networking, and industry contacts
- Monitoring government contract portals for bid and subcontract opportunities
- Preparing quotes and proposals with support from the engineering team
- Maintaining an active pipeline and consistent client communication
What We Are Looking For
- B2B sales experience with face-to-face client interaction and self-directed prospecting
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background, through a degree, formal training, or hands-on experience
- Ability to read technical documents, understand project scope, and communicate solutions
- Familiarity with PLC systems, control panels, or industrial automation
- Self-starter who manages their own time without close supervision
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or willingness to learn
- Experience with government contracting or SAM.gov
- Existing network in Tampa Bay manufacturing or industrial sectors
