Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler and Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and the precise operation of various machinery used in fabrication and production processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards, quality control, and operational efficiency. Duties
- Operate a variety of machinery including CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and electrical discharge machining equipment to produce high-quality components.
- Safely operate forklifts and cranes to move raw materials, finished products, and tooling within the facility.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges to inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist in fabricating sheet metal components using hand tools, welding equipment, and tooling as required.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, measurements, and inspection results.
- Support team efforts in assembly operations by preparing parts and ensuring proper fitment according to engineering drawings.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling heavy materials with cranes or forklifts.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, or plasma cutters within a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of machining processes including CNC programming, blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and fabrication techniques.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques and mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tooling setup, calibration of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and material quantities.
- Understanding of safety procedures related to crane operation, forklift driving, machine guarding, and handling sheet metal.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance on complex equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance throughout manufacturing processes.
