Job Title: Pump Truck Operator

General Description:
Under general supervision and direction, this position requires performance of daily pump jobs on customer locations in the oil and gas industry. This position requires Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). This is a safety-sensitive position that is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as well as drug and alcohol testing procedures related to the Department of Transportation (DOT). Safety-sensitive functions are expected to be drug-free in accordance with Cal Coast Acidizing’s Workplace Drug and Alcohol Policy. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that typically works 40 hours per week plus overtime as applicable. Job Details:
- Operator a Class A vehicle over highway and oil lease roads. Requires daily travel up to 50 miles from base and occasional travel up to 150 miles from base.
- Transportation of hazardous materials over highway and oil lease roads.
- Lift, drag, and connect hoses while on work locations.
- Requires repetitive and frequent use of hand tools such as pipe wrench, hammer, etc.
- Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups of people including customers and other service contractors.
- Requires working with others in a group or team for certain tasks.
- Maintain daily log of activities, condition of the vehicle, and report all accidents and incidents.
- Participate in DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol program.
- Requires attention to detail during pumping procedures and operations.
- All other duties as related to the Company as needed such as work in the yard and shop.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Able to lift and drag hoses weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Able to sit for long periods of time while driving.
- Work is performed in all weather conditions with temperature extremes as hot as 120°F or as cold as 30°F.
- Able to perform duties with provided protective equipment such as FR uniform, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, H2S personal monitor, etc.
- Work requires contact with several corrosive fluids and cleaning solutions. Work with respiratory protection may be necessary.
- Potential hazards include all hazards normally associated with work on oil wells including loud noises, moving machinery, airborne toxins, flammable atmospheres, and industrial chemicals.
Qualifications:
- Must have and main a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Hazardous Materials endorsement required.
- Tanker Endorsement required.
- Must have a satisfactory driving record—be able to present a recent DMV printout if contacted for an interview.
- 3+ years of verifiable class A vehicle operations with a tanker.
- Verifiable triplex pump operation experience.
- Previous experience driving class A vehicle in oil lease locations preferred.
- Pass a DOT physical and maintain a current medical certificate.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
