Job Summary
We are looking for someone to help us for 2-4 months will someone is on maternity leave. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside support, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality dental services across general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in clinical procedures and patient communication will make a meaningful difference in our patients’ oral health journeys.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining infection prevention protocols in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as digital X-ray systems and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix including updating medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments and ensuring compliance with infection control standards for healthcare settings
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist to enhance patient experience
Skills
- Proficiency in using Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures for general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric cases
- Familiarity with infection prevention management practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures
- Knowledge of dental instrument processing and sterilization protocols to ensure safety standards are met consistently
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism under clinical confidentiality policies
