Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli items with precision, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service by assisting shoppers in selecting products, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling, cashiering duties, and balancing registers at shift end.
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure product freshness to promote sales and upselling opportunities.
- Support food handling procedures such as slicing meats, cheeses, or preparing salads while following proper safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments within the food industry or quick service restaurants.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse shoppers.
- Excellent time management skills to balance multiple tasks during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register operations.
- Experience in grocery stores or cafes is a plus; culinary experience is highly valued for this role.
