Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Schedule: Monday to Friday; shift times vary (6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM); includes a 1-hour break. Rotating Saturday coverage (hours vary).

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Phlebotomist I to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn, develop their skills, and contribute as part of a collaborative team. The Phlebotomist I works under supervision to provide excellent patient care, perform specimen collection, and support daily operations across patient service centers and clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection procedures

Ensure proper labeling, handling, and preparation of samples for testing and transport

Accurately enter patient and specimen information into the system

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

Provide excellent customer service and patient care

Collaborate with team members to support daily operations

Completion of a phlebotomy training program with a minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience

Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

Basic computer proficiency, including email and data entry

High school diploma; GED

Ability to successfully pass a background check in compliance with Louisiana Department of Health guidelines

National Phlebotomy Technician certification or LSBME licensure
Orion Laboratories is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist I in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This entry-level role performs venipuncture, supports specimen collection and handling, and provides excellent patient care in a clinical laboratory environment. Monday through Friday schedule with varying shifts and rotating Saturday coverage.
