High School Math Teacher (Part-Time)
2026–2027 School Year

Joobilo Academic Community is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging High School Math Teacher who enjoys making math meaningful, approachable, and relevant. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to develop strong mathematical reasoning while preparing them for future academic and career success.
The ideal candidate enjoys teaching high school students and can present mathematical concepts in a way that is engaging, interactive, and easy to understand. Experience teaching Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Consumer Math, or other upper-level mathematics courses is highly desirable.
All classes are taught in person.
About Joobilo
Joobilo Academic Community is a homeschool organization serving students in grades K–12 through a variety of academic and enrichment classes. We partner with homeschooling families to provide engaging educational experiences in a supportive community. An understanding of Classical Education is a plus.
Schedule
- Teaching Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Typical Teaching Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00/4:30 PM (depending on campus assignment)
- Additional paid prep and grading time may be completed at home or in the office.
- Attendance is required at a monthly in-person staff meeting on Mondays from 4:00–5:30 PM.
- Specific teaching schedules, campus assignments, and work hours will be confirmed in the offer letter.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics and enjoys helping students think critically, solve problems, and develop confidence in their abilities. Candidates should be comfortable teaching high school students while creating a classroom environment that encourages participation, collaboration, perseverance, and a genuine appreciation for mathematics.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging and effective high school mathematics classes using a variety of instructional strategies.
- Help students develop strong problem-solving, reasoning, and critical-thinking skills.
- Present mathematical concepts through real-world applications and interactive learning experiences.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain student attendance, grades, and other required records.
- Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school guidelines and expectations.
- Maintain open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and school staff.
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and collaborative planning as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience (credential not required).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience teaching high school mathematics, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Consumer Math, or comparable courses.
- Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to foster student confidence and academic growth.
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and families.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, and move throughout the classroom as needed.
Compensation
$23.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Additional paid prep and grading time is provided.
