The City of Waynesboro Public Works Fleet Department seeks individuals for the Equipment Mechanic position.
What You’ll Do:
Perform skilled labor in maintaining and repairing automotive, construction, and specialized equipment. This position is vital to keeping the City fully functional. Work revolves around troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues with City equipment. A successful candidate will have knowledge and skills of methods, tools, and equipment to repair and maintain automotive and construction equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/experience equivalent to High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimal experience in automotive/ construction equipment preferred however experience in all fields is not required, will train the right candidate.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, crawling, and the use of general hand tools and specialized equipment.
The starting salary is 19.40
/HR with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and or/education.
