Summary of Work
In this position, you will provide taxpayer assistance daily and be on the phone frequently answering a variety of compliance questions. You will work with systems that manage a variety of taxes in the sales and special taxes area and work to become knowledgeable about North Dakota tax law, administrative rules, and exemption requirements. Duties of the position include:

Assist taxpayers, providing information regarding tax law, administrative rules, policy, and department procedures.

Research and maintain a working knowledge of sales and special tax laws, rules, and administrative policies to provide excellent taxpayer assistance and efficient processing of taxpayer requests and section programs.
- Assist in the administration of sales tax compliance section processes and programs.
- Utilize the department's integrated tax system and database software to complete work duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires one of the following:

Bachelor's degree; OR
- High school diploma/GED and 4 or more years' experience in banking, bookkeeping, business administration, legal, public administration, economics, or similar field; OR

A combination of education and experience as defined above totaling at least 4 years.
