Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished parts.
- Set up and operate precision machine tools, including mill-turns, mills, lathes, and Swiss lathes, to manufacture original parts, tools, mechanisms, and devices.
- Determine necessary materials, parts, and equipment to complete jobs efficiently.
- Load CNC programs and make basic-level programming changes as needed.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Operate machine tools in an efficient, timely manner to meet production goals.
- Develop manufacturing processes and create CNC programs using FeatureCAM or similar software.
- Review parts and programs offline to identify potential issues before production.
- Perform required metrology inspections to verify part quality and report any issues.
- Understand and apply correct feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences.
- Identify optimal methods for producing high-quality parts within quoted cycle times.
- Support Lean Enterprise initiatives by reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CNC Machining and Programming experience
- Technical school certification or completion of an Apprenticeship program preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Solid understanding of shop math, including geometry and unit conversions
- Extensive knowledge of G and M codes
- Detailed knowledge of measuring techniques and industry best practices
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, programming, scheduling, purchasing, and sales.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
