We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Technical Designer to join our creative team. In this role, you will play a vital part in translating design concepts into technical specifications, ensuring that products are developed efficiently from initial sketches to final production. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between design vision and manufacturing, contributing to the creation of innovative, high-quality fashion items. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with designers, pattern makers, and production teams to bring compelling fashion collections to life.
Duties
- Collaborate with designers to interpret creative concepts into technical packages using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, including construction details, measurements, and fabric requirements, ensuring clarity for manufacturing teams.
- Use CAD software to create precise technical drawings and pattern layouts that align with design intent.
- Manage product lifecycle processes by updating and maintaining accurate records in product lifecycle management systems.
- Assist in garment construction by understanding knitting techniques, fabric behavior, and fit adjustments to ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with vendors and factories to communicate technical details, resolve construction issues, and ensure timely production.
- Support merchandising efforts by understanding fashion styling, color theory, and trend forecasting to contribute to cohesive collections.
Experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, for creating technical sketches.
- High proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software used in fashion design and technical development.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques knitting and sewing machine operation.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems for tracking development stages.
- Background in fashion design and Technical design with a focus on knitwear.
- Ability to interpret fashion sketches, pictures, and AI renditions into technical specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of fabric types, sewing methods, and garment fitting principles is necessary.
