IT Business Systems Analyst
100% Remote (Must work EST hours)
Length: 12 months
Pay Rate: $70 - $75 an hour
Position Summary
The analyst is responsible for documenting technical requirements, facilitating system improvements, resolving issues, and helping drive high-performing, secure, and scalable solutions. This position reports directly to the Technical Manager and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and developers to identify, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure alignment on solutions and project objectives.
- Assist Product Teams with requirement prioritization, system enhancements, and change management initiatives.
- Coordinate application support activities, including quarterly releases, defect resolution, and production support.
- Partner with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Development teams to support application architecture, integrations, and system implementations.
- Develop, review, and maintain technical specifications, process documentation, and system requirements.
- Document integrations between new and legacy systems while balancing the needs of multiple business units and product portfolios.
- Analyze system issues, identify root causes, and work with technical teams to implement effective solutions.
- Support system performance, reliability, security, and ongoing operational improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, IT Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into functional and technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in a solution delivery environment supporting enterprise applications.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the electric utility or energy industry.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications and complex system integrations.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Java, and VB.NET.
- Knowledge of databases, application security, system architecture, and troubleshooting practices.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, SAFe, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of cloud-based technologies and enterprise application ecosystems.
