Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Cook / Food Service Coordinator to plan, prepare, transport, and serve nutritious meals for youth participating in our after-school programs for the 2026/2027 school year. This position is responsible for meal preparation for three program locations, food delivery, serving meals at one site, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan weekly menus that meet program and nutritional guidelines.
- Prepare meals and snacks for three after-school program locations.
- Maintain inventory and assist with food ordering and supply management.
- Safely package and transport meals to program sites, including the high school location.
- Deliver meals to the high school and serve students for approximately 30 minutes after school each day.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, serving areas, and dishes.
- Maintain records required for food service programs.
- Monitor food quality and portion control.
- Work collaboratively with program staff to ensure meals are ready and served on time.
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation, commercial kitchen operations, or food service preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old, as this position involves working directly with teens.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a school, nonprofit, or youth-serving organization.
- Experience planning menus and managing food inventory.
- Familiarity with USDA meal program requirements.

Sandpoint Teen Center provides meals, movement and mentorship to Bonner County teens every day after school. We provide a fun and safe environment for teens to socialize and engage in positive and enriching activities designed to help them develop leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and community awareness.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
