About This Role
As our Memory Care Activities Director, you will lead and bring to life our signature Walk with Me™ engagement program — a person-centered approach to memory care that meets each resident exactly where they are and creates daily moments of meaning, dignity, and joy.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a compensation range of $18.00 to $23.00 per hour. Where you land within that range depends on your experience working with individuals living with dementia and any dementia-specific certifications you hold. We value what you bring to the table — and we pay accordingly.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities designed specifically for residents with memory care needs, including recreational therapy sessions, social events, and therapeutic outings.
- Develop personalized activity plans that cater to individual resident preferences, abilities, and care goals.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities support residents’ emotional well-being and assist with their daily living activities (ADLs).
- Coordinate community outings and special events that foster social engagement and community involvement.
- Monitor resident participation and progress, adjusting activities as needed to maximize benefits and enjoyment.
- Maintain detailed records of activity participation, resident responses, and progress reports for care planning purposes.
- Educate staff and family members about the benefits of memory care activities and provide guidance on supporting residents’ engagement. Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care strategies, and best practices in memory support.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Background in caregiving or long-term care environments with familiarity in assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or aging issues counseling is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while maintaining flexibility for resident needs.
