Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on various equipment including heavy machinery and vehicle electrical components.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements.
- Assist in equipment assembly, alignment checks, tire service, brake repair, and hydraulic system repairs to uphold safety standards across all operations.
- Support preventative maintenance programs by inspecting vehicles and machinery regularly to identify potential issues before they lead to costly breakdowns.
Requirements
- Must be equipped with your own tools.
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize OEM manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation alongside mechanical repair expertise enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Having a Class A CDL is preferred.
