JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist – Benefits & Employee Engagement is primarily responsible for administering employee benefits and supporting initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and a positive workplace culture.
This position coordinates employee engagement activities, including employee events, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, engagement surveys, and related communications.
In addition to these primary responsibilities, this position provides general Human Resources support across all areas of the HR office, including HRIS, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits, and other HR functions as assigned. The successful candidate must have the experience and/or ability to effectively perform and support the full range of Human Resources office functions.
The Human Resources Generalist – Benefits & Employee Engagement reports directly to the HR Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Human Resources certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or a related employee engagement certification preferred.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in human resources, employee benefits, employee engagement, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with employee benefits administration and/or employee engagement programs preferred.
- Experience with HR, payroll, benefits, or other human resources information systems strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
- Administer employee benefits and HR programs, including maintaining accurate and confidential records, coordinating insurance and workers’ compensation documentation, and supporting pension plan administration and reporting.
- Administer FMLA and other employee leave-related records and processes in accordance with organizational policies and applicable federal and state requirements.
- Maintain secure and organized employee records and HR documentation, including electronic recordkeeping, file maintenance, retention, and confidentiality in compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Provide guidance and support regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee programs, ensuring consistent application and compliance with organizational standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate employee engagement, recognition, and retention programs that promote employee satisfaction, morale, and a positive workplace culture.
- Plan and coordinate employee events, recognition activities, wellness initiatives, workshops, and organizational engagement programs, including annual awards and appreciation programs.
- Develop and distribute employee communications including newsletters, announcements, emails, and other materials that promote awareness, connection, engagement, and organizational culture.
- Support organizational initiatives, committees, training, quality improvement, and other HR-related projects and responsibilities as assigned to advance employee services and organizational goals.
- Provide comprehensive HR support across all facets of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and performance management

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General office setting with no routine exposure to extremes in temperature, lighting, or noise.
- Requires prolonged sitting and frequent keyboarding.
- Significant time spent looking at a computer monitor.
- May require occasional travel to various clinic and organizational locations.
- Requires flexible scheduling as necessary to coordinate and attend employee events and activities, including occasional evening or weekend events.
