Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages
- Take customer orders and provide excellent customer service
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register or point of sale (POS) system
- Upsell additional products and promote special offers to customers
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the food industry, preferably as a barista or in a similar role
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a positive experience for customers
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and different coffee varieties
- Familiarity with basic math for cash handling and retail math for inventory management
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient service during peak hours
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order preparation and cash handling
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers
