Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) procedures under supervision.
- Support physicians with procedures in various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, and outpatient clinics.
- Manage medical documentation by recording patient notes, updating medical records, coding diagnoses with ICD codes, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and manage incoming calls to provide excellent patient service.
- Assist with laboratory tasks like specimen collection and handling while maintaining safety protocols in accordance with hospital or clinic standards.
- Support medical office management by maintaining inventory of supplies, managing EMR/EHR data entry, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation.
- Hands-on experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care environments or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings including clinics specializing in geriatrics or internal medicine enhances your adaptability.
- Strong patient service skills combined with the ability to handle medical records securely and efficiently are critical for success.

Pay: $24.91 - $30.00 per hour
