Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM

JOB OVERVIEW
An established and growing licensed childcare center in Berkeley County is seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Childcare Center Director to oversee the daily operations of our center and lead a team of educators and support staff.
This position is ideal for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys leadership, building strong teams, maintaining compliance, and creating a positive environment for children, families, and employees alike.
The Director will be responsible for ensuring the center operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all South Carolina DSS regulations while maintaining high standards for care, communication, and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center and ensure smooth opening procedures each morning.
- Ensure compliance with all South Carolina DSS regulations and licensing requirements.
- Maintain classroom ratios and staffing coverage at all times.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop staff members.
- Conduct employee evaluations and performance coaching.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard employees.
- Maintain employee personnel files and training records.
- Ensure all required staff certifications and annual training requirements remain current.
- Support employee retention and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain positive relationships with families and address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
- Conduct tours and support enrollment growth initiatives.
- Prepare for DSS inspections, audits, and visits.
- Ensure the center remains safe, clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Collaborate with ownership regarding operations, staffing, budgets, and center goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must qualify as a Childcare Director under South Carolina DSS regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare facility as a Director, Assistant Director, Program Coordinator, or similar role.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass all required state and federal background checks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
- Experience with DSS licensing visits and compliance requirements.
- Experience using childcare management software such as Procare.
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
