This posting is for a Psychiatric Care Worker (PCW). PCWs under the direction of the Medical Director, ECT Clinical Nursing Supervisor and Clinical Nurses, provide staffing and clinical support to patients and staff in the Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic (ECT).
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Completion of at least two years of college coursework (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Strong work ethic, self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated reliability, including a strong attendance record and consistent work performance.

Ability to safely transport and assist with moving patients via stretchers and wheelchairs throughout the facility.

Ability to receive, prioritize, and carry out directions from multiple staff members in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Bachelor's Degree especially in Psychology, Neuroscience Preferred
1 year experience in patient care in an inpatient setting, preferably mental health related
Certified Nurse Assistant or Paramedic Training
This position consists of working 32 hours/week
Hours of Operation: 6am-4pm

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
