Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults efficiently.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting and mechanical systems repair to restore optimal operation swiftly.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform system repairs, replacements, or upgrades in accordance with safety standards.
- Diagnose refrigeration issues, including ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs or maintenance procedures clearly and professionally.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs for all work performed; ensure all tasks adhere to safety protocols and building codes.
- Assist with HVAC system installation projects from start to finish while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
- Support property maintenance efforts by inspecting mechanical systems regularly and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and maintenance projects.
- Service technician experience working directly with HVAC/R systems in commercial or residential settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, electrical diagrams, and building automation systems for troubleshooting purposes.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing related to HVAC systems as well as electrical diagnostics involving electrical systems within mechanical setups.
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles including ammonia refrigeration systems; EPA certification is required for handling refrigerants.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic tools for equipment repair.
- Demonstrated ability to perform HVAC system repairs efficiently while maintaining high safety standards; previous field service experience is highly valued.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver preferred for on-site visits.

Pay: $30.10 - $36.24 per hour
