Summary/Objective
The Assistant School Director supports the School Director in supervising staff members and managing all aspects of the school’s daily operations to ensure a high-quality educational environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise the school’s educational programs
Implement Board policies and school regulations
Recommend, design, and implement programs to meet the needs of the school
Assist with the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum
Approve the master teaching schedule and special staff assignments
Participate in administrative meetings
Provide orientation for new staff members
Supervise all staff meetings and assist with staff in-service training
Assist with the recruiting, hiring, assigning, and training of school personnel
Supervise the school’s attendance reporting procedures
Assist in the coordination of support services
Promote high standards of conduct and enforce discipline
Delegate authority as appropriate and conduct staff meetings as needed
Oversee safety and health regulations within the building
Share responsibility for overall school safety
Manage inventory control, security, and accountability for school resources
Assist in the preparation of the school budget
Supervise the school’s activity accounts and other financial matters
Assist in the development of the student handbook and student code of conduct
Assist with the supervision of school-sponsored and co-curricular activities
Supervise the preparation of all required school reports
Budget school time effectively to maximize learning opportunities
Stay informed of changes and developments in the field of education
Supervise the Special Education program and ensure compliance with IEP requirements
Maintain positive public relations with parents, community members, and stakeholders

This position follows the School/Teacher calendar and may require work outside of standard operating hours.
Travel
Travel may be required for professional development, training, or meetings.
Minimum Employment Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; business experience preferred
Teaching experience required
Must possess or be eligible for an Ohio teaching certificate
Special education training preferred
Successful completion of a criminal records check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
