Job Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials within a manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring timely and accurate material handling while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished goods from trucks and production lines.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and staging areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory by performing cycle counts and assisting with inventory control processes.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and inventory documentation.
- Basic math and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to operate equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- Automotive Manufacturing and warehouse setting with exposure to noise, dust.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection.
Additional Information:
This position may require overtime, weekends, and shift flexibility based on production needs.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
