Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using established occupational therapy techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that align with patients’ goals and medical conditions, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes.
- Implement therapy sessions in the patients home
- Utilize manual handling skills and anatomy knowledge to facilitate safe and effective therapeutic activities.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving daily functioning and managing health conditions effectively.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate closely with Physicians, Nurses, Physical Therapist, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and safety protocols during all therapy activities, including weight handling in the workplace.
- Stay current with advances in physiology knowledge, medical terminology, CPR certification, and other relevant certifications to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements:
- Valid licensure or registration as an Occupational Therapist in the respective region or country.
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, post-acute care, pediatrics, geriatrics, or sub-acute environments.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational health practices.
- Hands-on experience with manual handling techniques and weight handling protocols within the workplace context.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical documentation and technical tools used in occupational therapy practices.
- Experience working with pediatric populations as well as adult patients across inpatient and outpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for different patient needs while maintaining a positive and motivating attitude.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
