American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Wilson, NC, requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and AHA-certified BLS and ACLS.

Night shift position working 7P-7A on a 22-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit that also serves as Med/Surg overflow
-
Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, acute renal failure, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care

Patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1

Equipment includes Welch Allyn V/S machines, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, computers on wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps

EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)

Schedule requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour weekend shifts every other or every third weekend

No on-call requirements

Floating is required

13-week contract

Active NC or compact RN license required

AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required

Associate degree required; BSN preferred

EKG interpretation skills are a plus

Experience managing discharges and admissions, and basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, respiratory, and metabolic conditions on a telemetry floor

Supervised by a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

Orientation is offered on a bi-weekly schedule

Artificial nails are not permitted; scrub color is not assigned

Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months

Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
