Service Lane Supervisor

General Summary
Under general direction, supervises a group of employees engaged in minor bus maintenance, servicing operations, and cleaning of coach interiors, seats, floors, windows and exteriors within the Service Lane section of Maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises a group of workers engaged in servicing and cleaning buses and other automotive rolling stock by:

Reviews operations, makes work assignments and establishes performance standards.

Inspects work to assure that it is performed correctly and efficiently.

Instructs subordinates in the proper methods of cleaning and servicing vehicles.

Initiates disciplinary actions and assists in the resolution of grievances.

Evaluates employee performances.

Keeps records and prepares routine and special reports on activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year high school.

Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance procedures.

Mechanical knowledge, aptitude, initiative and resourcefulness.

Ability to perform all duties of the Coach Service Attendant classification.

Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with proper endorsement within thirty (30) days of appointment.

Tact in dealing with subordinates, peers and managerial personnel.

Ability to prepare reports and maintenance records.

Ability to use a computer.
