Primary Purpose:
- Provide students with age appropriate learning activities and experiences to help fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.
- Provide a delightful experience that enables students to develop skills to function successfully.
Special Knowledge/skills:
- Fluent in Spanish

- Thorough understanding of the minimum standards rules for licensed child-care centers

Responsibilities:
· Maintain daily open and professional communication with parents
o To be familiar with the knowledge base related to working effectively with families and to stay informed through continuing education and training.
o To develop relationships of mutual trust and create partnerships with the families we serve.
o To welcome all family members and encourage them to participate in the program, including involvement in shared decision making.
- The term family may include those adults, besides parents, with the responsibility of being involved in educating, nurturing, and advocating for the child.
· Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
· Meet all applicable licensing regulations
· Be self-motivated in increasing knowledge and skills
· Have supervision and control of children at all time (Count them constantly)
· Use appropriate and positive discipline
· Maintain prompt hours and notify Executive Director in event of absence in appropriate amount of time
· Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
· Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
· Attend staff meetings (when required)
· Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and timesheets.
· Maintain confidentiality
· Report any suspect abuse
· Take care of all the material that is inside and outside the building.

· Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy. Plan and implement lessons based on Reggio Emilia.
· Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
· Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning
· Coordinate field trips
· Prepare bi-monthly lesson plans
· Prepare monthly newsletter
· Complete trimester assessment of children's development
· Report progress of children to parents in trimester reports and through parent-teacher conferences
· Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom
· Work cooperatively with others by exchanging ideas, attending staff meetings and attending other school events.
· Prepare materials needed in the classroom.
· Follow the classroom schedules
· Send daily reports to parents trough the EZ Smiles App (at least two with pictures and information).
· Send home every Friday the child’s folder and stuff to be cleaned up.
· Complete 24 hours of mandatory training (within the first 90 days).
