The Warren Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Zoning Inspector. The position is part-time, appointed by the Board of Trustees, and is responsible for administering and enforcing the Warren Township Zoning Resolution within the unincorporated territory of the Township.

Reports to: Warren Township Board of Trustees
Responsibilities:
- Review applications for zoning certificates, including new constructions, alterations, additions, accessory structures, fences, signs, home occupations, vendors, demolitions, and small solar and wind facilities, and make a determination as to the compliance with applicables laws and rules.
- Conduct on-side field inspections ti verify compliance with approved plans, and investigate complaints of unauthorized land uses, unpermitted structures, and nuisance conditions.
- Issue notices of violation and stop-work orders, and coordinate enforcement actions with the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, Warren Township Legal Counsel, and other applicable entities.
- Serve as the first point of contact for residents, developers, and business owners on zoning inquiries, setback requirements, application procedures, and interpretation of the Zoning Resolution.
- Prepare agendas, provide monthly reports and testimony, and transmit records for the Township Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of applications, certificates, inspections, and enforcement actions, and report to the Board on permit activity and open matters.
- Collect fees and transmit them to the Fiscal Office.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (Required)
- Associates Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Construction Management, or Related Field (Preferred, not required)
- Experience in zoning administration, code enforcement, planning, construction, or a closely related field (Preferred, not required)
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, surveys, legal descriptions, and Trumbull County GIS Tax Maps (Preferred, not required)
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle contentious public contact with composure and impartiality (Preferred, not required)
- Proficiency with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office
